Orientation, organized by students of the College gets into full swing Tuesday, September 4. This recreational program brings our new students together through team and spirit competitions, a clubs showcase, and a number of social events. Beginning in July, go to www.myncsc.com for more information on the Orientation event schedule, and how to purchase a Frosh Kit. The Registrar’s Office offers a limited number of Frosh Kit subsidies for students with financial need. Applications for subsidies will be available online here in mid-July. The deadline to apply is mid-August.
A half-day during Orientation Week is reserved for a set of Academic Orientation Events, organized by the Registrar’s Office with assistance from the Student Council. At College Registration, students receive a “Passport to Your Future” which is stamped for each event attended and may be entered in a draw for a fees credit worth approximately $500. Students have the opportunity to attend up to three events, which include mini-lectures by well-known professors and information sessions on how to succeed at university.
On “College Day”, the Tuesday after Labour Day, newly-admitted students register with the College in the morning, have lunch in the Quad, and then attend a Welcoming Ceremony in the afternoon. The Principal of New College, the Dean of Arts and Science, and staff and students of the College join in greeting our new members.
